Blue Bay vaut le détour, ne manquez pas d’observer au centre de cette baie la magnifique couleur bleue lumineuse, due à un bas-fond rare dans un lagon. Admirez avec vos masques et tubas les coraux encore vivants et d’innombrables poissons de toutes les couleurs … un spectacle magnifique que nous vous conseillons vivement.
Un petit tour à l’île aux Aigrettes vous permettra de découvrir une île calcaire, réserve naturelle avec de nombreuses espèces de plantes et d’animaux endémiques, en particulier le bois d’ébène, le Pigeon des Mares et la Tortue géante d’Aldabra. Depuis 1985, la Mauritian Wildlife Foundation a défriché, replanté et restauré 90% de cet îlot, réintroduisant plantes, oiseaux et reptiles indigènes rescapés de l’extinction. Ne vous aventurez pas seuls, on vous en interdira l’accès mais profitez d’une traversée en pirogue et d’une visite guidée par un spécialiste de l’éco-système mauricien. Rendez-vous sur la plage publique de Blue Bay ; de là, vous prendrez un bateau pour découvrir un spectacle aquatique et plonger, ou tout simplement vous flânerez sur la plage et contemplerez les couleurs fascinantes des eaux de la baie.

Blue Bay is worth seeing; do not miss to observe in the center of this bay the magnificent bright blue color of the sea, due to a rare sandbank in the lagoon. Admire with your masks and tubas the still alive corals and the uncountable fishes of all colors, a magnificent entertainment which we deeply recommend you.
A small tour on “Aigrettes Island” will allow you to discover an island of limestone origin, a natural reserve with numerous species of plants and endemic animals, in particular the ebony trees, the Pigeon des Mares and the giant Tortoise of Aldabra. Since 1985, the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation has cultivated, transplanted and restored 90 % of this island, reintroducing plants, birds and native reptiles, thus saving them from extinction. Do not venture by yourself on the island as you shall be forbidden access, but enjoy a trip in a local pirogue with a guided tour by a specialist of the Mauritian ecosystem. The meeting point is on the public beach of Blue Bay; from there, you will take a boat to discover an amazing aquatic show and dive in the lagoon , or you can simply stroll on the beach while contemplating the fascinating colors of the bay’s water.
